Installing the Pump Control Card

 Tips:

Due to its obsolete technology, the pump control card is no longer available from Dionex. However, pump control cards may still be used in the field. Therefore, refer to the installation instructions below if necessary.

This card is not supported under Windows Vista or later.

Before you install the pump control card, connect the second slot sheet (attached) to the card. The card can be operated with an 8-bit or 16-bit slot. Ensure adequate protection against electrostatic charge. Before you install the card, turn off the computer.

The picture shows the components that are important for the installation of the card:

 Pulse Width and Frequency Modulation

 Pump Connection and Pin Assignment

 Caution:

Use a ballpoint pen to set the switch. Do not use a pencil, as graphite particles could cause a short circuit in the switch.

To use the pump control card with Chromeleon, install the card in the Server Configuration program. On the Edit or context menu, select Sharable Devices, and then select the Dionex Pump Control Board driver from the list. On the General tab page, assign the port address.

The pump control card allows you to control three frequency-controlled pumps. To install the Pump Control Board Pump(s), select the timebase in which you want to install the driver, and then select Add Device on the Edit or context menu. Select General from the Manufacturers list box and Pump Control Board Pump(s) from the Devices list box.

In addition, the card allows you to set up four relays and four inputs. To install the Shared Relays and Inputs driver, repeat the above installation steps, selecting Shared Relays and Inputs from the Devices list box. Select and assign the relays and remote inputs on the corresponding tab pages.
